Tens of thousands of Americans die each year because they do not have the insurance to afford the health care which could have saved their lives. These could be our friends and family members.
Congresswoman Jahana Hayes wants this to stop. She has supported bills to expand healthcare and lower premiums under the Affordable Care Act. By voting for the Inflation Reduction Act, she has helped Medicare to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies, limit out-of-pocket costs to each person to $2,000 a year and cap insulin costs to $35 a month for Medicare patients. This will make a real difference to our older citizens on Medicare.
She passed a bill to increase mental health access in our schools and to increase funds for community mental health services.
But Congresswoman Hayes wants to bring affordable medical coverage to everyone in the Fifth Congressional District. She co-sponsored a bill to bring Medicare for all.
Let's send Jahana Hayes back to Congress this November to work to bring affordable health insurance for all the people, of all ages in our district and our nation.
