Aetna Introduces New Low-Cost Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)

$18 average plan premium makes new stand-alone Part D plan one of the lowest-cost plans available nationwide in 20181

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Aetna (NYSE: AET) announced the launch of Aetna Medicare Rx® Select (PDP). This new, low-cost prescription drug plan is designed for active, cost-conscious consumers. The plan will be available beginning January 1, 2018 in 27 states2 and the District of Columbia.

Aetna Medicare Rx Select (PDP) features $18 average monthly plan premiums. It has $0 copays for 80 Tier 1 generic medications at preferred pharmacies like Kroger, Albertsons Companies’ pharmacies, Publix and ShopRite. The plan offers enhanced gap coverage and $0 deductible for Tier 1 and Tier 2 generic drugs. These members can shop at more than 41,500 pharmacies nationally, with over 18,500 preferred pharmacies offering even lower costs for some medications.

Nationally, Aetna offers three Medicare prescription drug plans and many Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage plans. We’ve designed plans to help meet the health, lifestyle and financial goals of Medicare beneficiaries.
