THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) _ Aegon NV (AEG) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $581.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the The Hague, Netherlands-based company said it had profit of 29 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 21 cents per share.
The life insurance company posted revenue of $9.24 billion in the period.
Aegon NV shares have climbed 2.5 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 34 percent in the last 12 months.
