WEA Insurance Corporation Selects Duck Creek Technologies’ EXAMPLE Platform® for Life, Health, Dental, and Disability Lines

Tools-based system to be used to increase product speed-to-market
Bolivar, MO, March 7, 2006 - Duck Creek Technologies, Inc., a provider of rating and policy administration software for the insurance industry, today announced that Madison, Wisconsin-based, WEA Insurance Corporation, has chosen Duck Creek’s EXAMPLE Platform® to provide a rating, underwriting, and proposal generation system for their multiple lines of business. The implementation project is currently underway.
The insurer is implementing Duck Creek’s EXAMPLE Author®, EXAMPLE Server®, EXAMPLE Express®, EXAMPLE TransACT™, and EXAMPLE Forms™ products. WEA Insurance will use the EXAMPLE products to build a comprehensive rating, underwriting and proposal generation system for their Health, Dental, Disability, Prescription Drug, Life, and Long Term Care products.
Duck Creek’s EXAMPLE Platform met WEA Insurance’s objective of finding a system flexible enough to handle their multi-line business. The tools-based system will enable WEA Insurance to design and develop new products in-house, and get them to market quickly. In addition, Duck Creek's Web Services architecture is a good fit with other new systems that WEA Insurance is in the process of implementing, including QCSI's Qnxt, an advanced enterprise application system for healthcare payors.
"A big factor in the decision to go with Duck Creek was the ability of their Platform to support our many lines of business," said Neal Kaderabek, CIO of WEA Insurance. "We are pleased that we will be able to add different products without having to acquire another system. Their tools-based system will also allow us to eventually take over maintenance ourselves, which was one of our requirements. After meeting with the individuals at Duck Creek, and getting a feel for their culture, we were convinced that this was a good fit for us," Kaderabek said.
Duck Creek CEO Doug Roller commented, "We are very happy to have WEA Insurance join the ranks of Duck Creek customers as the first customer who will develop and administer Life and Disability products with the EXAMPLE Platform."
