TriZetto’s Clinical CareAdvance Solution Sets Performance and Scalability Benchmarks of More Than 40 Million Members, Supporting Health Plans of All Sizes

The test team simulated the technology environment of a payer operation, with excessive throughput, reporting and call demands imposed on the software and associated hardware. The evaluations were conducted in three phases, with the final phase using an expanded database of 41 million members -- processing data of more than 100 different member concepts (e.g., height, weight, etc.) for each of the members. The team also created multiple test scripts, each simulating transactions and activities typical of a large payer’s clinical staff.
In the final evaluation, the team ran individual tests and, later, combined tests. System performance met or exceeded goals in every area evaluated, demonstrating that TriZetto’s Clinical CareAdvance application could efficiently meet the needs of more than 5,000 concurrent online users who, in turn, serve the needs of a membership of more than 40 million people.
The pre-test analysis, planning and scalability exercises were performed at TriZetto’s permanent performance lab in Albuquerque.
About the TriZetto Clinical CareAdvance Application
The Clinical CareAdvance application supports case, disease and utilization management, enabling health plans to use clinical resources more effectively, automatically manage members’ chronic illnesses and promote wellness. The application automates workflows, including member identification, care planning, task and team management, progress tracking, communication creation and ongoing monitoring. It also streamlines the prospective, concurrent and retrospective utilization management processes, including submittal, intake, review, approval, appeal management and utilization management reporting.
The application can be obtained as a stand-alone solution or as part of TriZetto’s comprehensive CareAdvance Enterprise solution. In addition to the Clinical CareAdvance system, the solution suite includes the Personal CareAdvance® application, which delivers personalized, web-based health information that engages members, and the CareAdvance ProviderTM application, which reduces the administrative burden on provider and payers by automating authorization services.
