DES MOINES, Iowa, April 2 -- Principal Financial Group issued the following news release:
The Principal Financial Group (R) adds more than 11,000 dentists and specialists to its growing list of in-network dental providers, boosting the total number to 80,000. Dental insurance members now have access to those dentists at more than 180,000 offices and clinics nationwide.
"More in-network providers in more locations, means greater choice, access and cost-savings for our members," said Theresa McConeghey, assistant vice president of dental insurance for The Principal (R). "By expanding our network, we're not only able to offer more dentists in current networks, but we're also able to offer access to dental providers in several new areas."
Principal Dental network dentists agree to discounted fees and a review of their professional credentials. These discounts translate to lower out-of-pocket costs for members and a lower rate for employers. Members who use an in-network dentist experience a significant savings on dental treatments.
The Principal provides a number of interactive tools to help members get the most out of their dental benefits through The Principal Dental Health EdgeSM (http://c3.go2dental.com/content/). Members can access information on procedures, treatment plans, network providers and basic oral health information. The site includes a cost estimator, which calculates dental costs in a given ZIP code and a database of network providers who offer discounted charges and fees.
