The Independent Insurance Agents of Westchester County (IIAWC) Awards Sara J. Rosen the Frederick H. Dayton Award

Armonk, NY (PRWEB) March 11, 2011

Sara J. Rosen received the Frederick H. Dayton Award in recognition of her extraordinary efforts on behalf of the association and her active role in community service at a luncheon held at the Doubletree Hotel Tarrytown on Thursday, March 3.

The 32-year veteran of the insurance industry, Mrs. Rosen, expressed her gratitude to a packed ballroom of more than 400 industry leaders, insurance agency staff, family and supporters, and beckoned all those in attendance to assume leadership roles throughout their communities. “I hope each of you will take some time to consider what your role is in your family, neighborhood, the Agent’s Association, or anything else that has a modicum of importance to you. After all, active participation in life is so much more rewarding than the status quo,” she said. “We all have the capacity to promote positive change; please consider how you fit in.” Personal and poignant, her acceptance speech was received by thunderous applause.

Mrs. Rosen began her professional tenure in 1979 as a recent White Plains High School graduate when she joined the Fortune 500 Firm Chubb Insurance Company as a mail clerk. She retired from Chubb as an Assistant Vice President and Manager of the Westchester Regional Personal Lines Department two decades later. Her professional ascent to management reflects her personal ethos of diligence, dedication and hard work.

In 1999, she joined Rosen & Company, Inc. of Armonk, New York to manage the Personal Lines Division. Recognized as a regional leader, Rosen & Company provides consultative advice and risk management services in 42 states and via service partners globally.

Mrs. Rosen joined the Board of the Independent Insurance Agents of Westchester County (IIAWC) in 2004 and was named President of the association in 2006. Throughout her tenure, she was recognized for increasing membership and attendance at key annual events.

Mrs. Rosen actively supports autism awareness and the efforts of the American Heart Association.

Background
Brief:
The award was established in 1973 in memory of Frederick H. Dayton: founder of the Dayton, Corey & Dubin insurance agency; now part of the SKCG Group of White Plains.

The IIAWC has presented the award annually to an industry leader in recognition for his or her contributions made on behalf of the association and in appreciation for their leadership role in civic life.
