The Hanover Insurance Group Foundation Awards Scholarships To 36 Local Students

WORCESTER, Mass., May 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hanover Insurance Group Foundation, Inc. announced today that it has awarded 36 scholarships to local, public high school students and children of employees of The Hanover Insurance Group.

This year, the company awarded a total of 52 scholarships nationwide, for a total of $74,500. Since beginning the program in 2004, the company has provided over $460,000 in scholarships to students who have excelled academically, while demonstrating leadership and a commitment to community service.

"Our scholarship program is one of the many important ways we invest in our communities and our employees," said Frederick H. Eppinger, president and chief executive officer of The Hanover Insurance Group. "We hope our scholarships will inspire and empower students to achieve their full potential, in college and beyond, as they help to build a smarter, stronger community."
