The Center for Professional Education at St. John’s School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science Launches Workers Comp Professional Development Certificate Program
AMCOMP’s WCP Educational Designation Program Selected as Course Curriculum
This 12-week program in Workers Compensation is designed to provide a detailed foundation of knowledge regarding changes and concerns relating to workers comp, the law and insurance professionals. The curriculum identifies several workers compensation issues and explores how the many aspects of the system work together. Topics include history, law and policy, coverage, underwriting, claims, risk management, pricing, trends, among others. The Course will be taught utilizing AMCOMP’s newly published text book Workers Compensation: The First 100 Yearsauthored by DeCarlo and
DeCarlo continued, “Employers have realized the value and importance of continued education and the effects it has on the company’s bottom line. Creating a pool of qualified candidates to lead the industry in the coming decades will ensure that policyholders and their employees are getting the best products and services available. Upon completion of The Center’s Certificate Course, attendees will be eligible to sit for AMCOMP’s WCP designation exam and obtain AMCOMP’s certified Workers Compensation Professional (WCP) designation.
