Spectrum Health Care opens today

Jan. 30--"I have always wondered why so many people were going to Susanne Landgrebe for doctor appointments," businessman and entrepreneur Kenneth Kirk said. "Last year, I went to Colfax Health Services for an appointment, and the level of care and service I received from Susanne was exceptional. It was evident as to why so many people were going to Susanne for their doctor appointments."

In June 2013, Colfax Health Services closed its doors after being purchased by New Care. After the closing of the clinic nurse practitioner Susanne Landgrebe took some time to travel and see family.

"It was great to have had some time off to enjoy family, but during that time, I realized I missed caring for my patients," Landgrebe said.

Landgrebe then started a minor-care clinic in Aleya Spa on the courthouse square in Newton. She began working with Kirk to open a full family practice clinic in Newton.

"I wanted a chance to be able to offer all my services under one roof," Landgrebe said. "Now, I will be able to not only improve the health of my patients, but most of all their quality of life."

"It was a nice business opportunity for me, because she has an amazing following throughout Jasper County," Kirk said. "She has done an amazing job over the years. I am just glad to be a part of offering this opportunity to the city of Newton and Jasper County."

After the holiday season, it was announced that a location had been purchased in Newton. The only thing left was a name for the clinic.

"Landgrebe does medical treatment for the entire spectrum -- from babies to seniors -- and offers health and quality of life medical services," Kirk said. "I mentioned Spectrum Health Care as a business name, and she loved it."

Spectrum Health Care services will have a full medical lab to perform many procedures in-house. The services will expand with adding many new practices of health and wellness with medical aesthetics and a yoga studio. The yoga studio will be added later, in the basement of the facility.

"It's part of improving the quality of life for the patients by offering services to improve their health," Landgrebe said. "I am very excited about the many services we will be offering at Spectrum."

"We will be expanding our services after we get open," Kirk said. "It's all about our motto, "the closest distance to your health is through our doors."
