Safelite AutoGlass Wins Stevie’s “Best Use of Technology in Customer Service” Award

Safelite AutoGlass(R) was presented with a Stevie(R) Award in the “Best Use of Technology in Customer Service” category at the fifth annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service last night.

The Stevie Awards organizes several of the world’s leading business awards shows including the prestigious American Business Awards(SM) and International Business Awards(SM). Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the trophies were presented to honorees during a gala banquet on Monday, February 21 at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach. Nominated customer service and sales executives from the USA and several other countries attended.

More than 800 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted to this year’s competition, an increase of more than 60 percent over 2010. There were 25 categories for customer service professionals, including Contact Center of the Year, Award for Innovation in Customer Service, and Customer Service Department of the Year; as well as 40 categories for sales professionals, ranging from Global Sales Leader of the Year to Sales Training Program of the Year to Sales Department of the Year. New this year were categories to recognize new products and services and solution providers.

Safelite AutoGlass won in the “Best Use of Technology in Customer Service” category. Upon confirmation of a mobile repair appointment, the company requests an email address to send the customer an email containing the name, picture and background information of the technician who will be sent to complete the work on their vehicle. The email also contains other pertinent information such as appointment time, claim number, vehicle information and insurance claim data. The customer has one electronic reference document containing everything they need to know about their appointment.

One customer recently shared on Facebook, “I think the thing that impressed me most was the email I got a day or two before my appointment time, not only confirming my time, but giving me the name and picture of the tech that was scheduled. I've never heard of a company doing that before. It was a great (and smart) way to do business!”

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists. Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.
