Prudential Financial annual golf outing raises more than $100,000 for youth hockey in Newark
Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) announced that it raised $102,000 during its recent Annual Charity Golf Outing at the Farmstead Golf and Country Club in Lafayette, New Jersey. Proceeds from the event will benefit Hockey in Newark, Inc., a not-for-profit, Newark, New Jersey-based organization that introduces the City's youth to hockey.
"We're pleased to support Hockey In Newark's efforts to enrich the lives of our youth through sports while emphasizing the importance of a quality education," said Richard Carbone, executive vice president and Chief Financial Officer, Prudential Financial. "Organizations like this one are on the front lines of improving the lives of our youth in Newark and our involvement represents Prudential's ongoing commitment to support the communities where we do business."
Founded in 2003, Hockey in Newark, Inc. started as a feeder source to Newark's East Side High, the only urban high school in the state with an ice hockey program. The organization now cultivates the growth of hockey in Newark on various levels in partnership with the Devils Arena Entertainment, LLC, The Newark Public Schools and the City of Newark and its Department of Recreation.
