Pinkerton Vigilance Uses SaaS Technology to Provide Real-Time Situational Awareness

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations (http://www.securitas.com/pinkerton/en/) today announced that it has obtained a five-year exclusive right to license TIES in its primary Security market. TIES is a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) that aggregates, filters and displays information from a variety of sources to support faster, better decision-making.

In a move signaling the growing importance of the private-sector security intelligence market, Pinkerton has partnered with Swan Island Networks, Inc., developer of TIES, to enhance its new Pinkerton Vigilance service. Pinkerton Vigilance brings real-time situational awareness to the storied security company’s customers around the world.

TIES (www.tiesglobal.com) is a unique high-assurance environment that fuses information from both internal enterprise and external open and proprietary sources. It also federates third-party web and mobile apps—and delivers all the above in a single, seamless service.

With TIES, Pinkerton’s Vigilance analysts are able to capture high-value security and business intelligence data from around the world, and target it to specific customers, based upon “context-aware” customer profiles. The result is a timely, more complete picture of the breaking events and changing conditions that matter to an entire company, or one of its workers. Immediate access to this targeted, real-time risk information enables Pinkerton’s customers to make faster, smarter and more efficient decisions, whenever their people, assets or operations face a critical threat.

“We’re very excited to have formed a long-term alliance with Pinkerton, one of the great names in global security,” said Charles Jennings, co-founder and CEO of Swan Island Networks, Inc. “Their intelligence and security resources, combined with our TIES platform, will set a new standard for real-time, mission-critical, security intelligence.”

Along with a variety of real-time situational awareness functions, Pinkerton’s large enterprise customers will now be able to use Pinkerton Vigilance to:

  • Track critical supply chain elements in real-time
  • Monitor hazards and threats around their facilities Strengthen executive protection/personnel protection programs
  • Coordinate and monitor surveillance video and social media
  • Track civil disturbances near company operations
  • …and create their own customized information services

“With Vigilance and the cloud, Pinkerton is first again in applying technology innovation to security and safety,” said Robert Dodge, vice president of the Western region for Pinkerton. “We spent over a year looking for the right partner to bring Vigilance to market and Swan Island Networks not only provides the cutting-edge technology we needed, but also a high-quality team dedicated to great service. The result is a solution that can leverage core capabilities of Pinkerton and our global parent, Securitas, providing risk management, situational awareness and unrivaled response services to our customers.”
