A recently published study in Vascular Health and Risk Management showed that Pantesin® Pantethine was effective in lowering cardiovascular risk markers in study participants with low to moderate risk factors who were eligible for statin therapy.
Specifically when compared to placebo, Pantesin showed significant changes in:
The study also showed that Pantesin didn’t block CoQ10 which may favor the adverse effects profile as compared to statin therapy.
The research was a triple-blinded, placebo-controlled study on a North American population deemed eligible for statin therapy according to NCEP (National Cholesterol Education Program) guidelines. Pantesin was given at a dose of 600mg/day from weeks 1-8 and 900 mg/day from weeks 9-16. The results demonstrated significant declines in LDL-C, HDL-C and TC levels after 16 weeks with no significant measurable benefits associated with the increased dosage. It should also be noted that the positive results were over and above the benefits of following a TLC diet (Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes) that was required of both the placebo and Pantesin groups.
“This study is significant because it highlights the ability to reduce several cardiovascular risk markers with a safe and comprehensive dietary supplement,” said study co-author, Danielle Citrolo, Pharm D.
An ingredient backed by 35+ years of research validating Pantesin’s use as a dietary supplement to help maintain healthy cholesterol levels is well supported. For more about Pantesin visit http://www.pantesin.com or email info(at)pantesin(dot)com
