Mediscan® OCR Technology Integrated into Henry Schein Micromd© New Practice Management Software Version 7.1

Medicscan® by Card Scanning Solutions (CSSN Inc.), a leading provider of image processing and optical character recognition (OCR) technology, announced today that its Medicscan© OCR system has been integrated into Henry Schein's MicroMD® Version 7.1 practice management system. The addition of the Medicscan feature into MicroMD’s office technology software solution helps streamline the patient registration process by eliminating manual photocopying of patient ID cards.

Using the OCR True Parse software from Medicscan, medical front office staff can simply scan patient insurance and other ID cards with CSSN’s Snapshell® ID Reader Camera System, and the system automatically populates patient data into the software’s registration screens. By avoiding the need to photocopy patient insurance cards, Medicscan significantly increases front office efficiency while reducing human error and costs.
