MedRisk, Inc. and Coventry Workers’ Comp Services Announce New Partnership
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MedRisk, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Coventry Workers' Comp Services (CWCS), a division of Coventry Health Care, Inc.
MedRisk, a claims services and specialty managed care company serving the workers’ compensation industry, will provide physical medicine management services to CWCS clients using the Coventry Integrated NetworkSM.
Under this new program, injured workers will have access to MedRisk’s national network of physical therapists, occupational therapists and chiropractors who specialize in the treatment of work-related injuries. CWCS clients will benefit from MedRisk’s prospective and retrospective physical medicine management services that deliver superior network savings.
“A recent NCCI study shows workers’ comp claims severity is increasing at 3 ½ times the rate of medical inflation,†says MedRisk CEO Shelley Boyce. “More than 20 percent of comp claims involve physical medicine, making it a significant driver of these rising costs. Through our unique evidence-based medical management program, CWCS clients will enjoy lower physical medicine costs and better medical outcomes.†</p>
CWCS plans to introduce MedRisk’s innovative network solution to existing clients in the upcoming months as part of CWCS’ new physical medicine program. The program will also be included in its national medical network offering for all new clients.
