Mass Connector Selects Perot Systems to Provide Support for Innovative Health Insurance Program

PLANO, Texas, July 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Health Insurance Connector Authority (Health Connector) and Perot Systems Corporation (NYSE: PER) today announced that the company will provide information technology and business process services to support the state's innovative program to assist low-income Massachusetts residents in choosing the appropriate plan of coverage for each individual's unique healthcare needs. The Health Connector's Commonwealth Care program has been deployed to ease the financial burden of health insurance costs and provide benefit coverage options to residents of Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Perot Systems' deep expertise in the healthcare industry combined with its ability to provide world-class technology will improve operational efficiencies and drive down the administrative costs of the program. By providing best-in-class service and technology support, Perot Systems will help the Commonwealth Care program to achieve the landmark goal of providing health care coverage for many of its uninsured residents. The timeframe for the agreement is for three years, and some of the responsibilities will be shared with both Vecna and the Public Consulting Group.
