Manatt Bolsters National Healthcare Practice with Addition of Managing Directors in New York and San Francisco
NEW YORK & SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Manatt Health Solutions, the interdisciplinary policy and business advisory division of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, recently announced that Patricia Boozang and Joseph Ray have assumed Managing Director roles in the firm’s Healthcare Division. Ms. Boozang is based in Manatt’s New York office and Mr. Ray is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Ms. Boozang provides government relations, policy and regulatory advice to a wide range of non-profit healthcare and social services organizations. Previously a senior manager with Manatt, Ms. Boozang has managed large associations of New York Medicaid managed care plans and represented their interests before state and federal regulatory agencies. Additionally, she directs the Coalition of New York State Public Health Plans, an association of nine managed care plans that serve over two million beneficiaries of New York’s public health insurance programs. Most recently, Ms. Boozang led the Manatt team that authored the New York State Health Foundation policy briefing on implementing health reform in the state of New York, and she coauthored the California Healthcare Foundation’s policy briefing on the implementation of health reform in the state of California. In her new role, Ms. Boozang will be a key player on Manatt’s health reform team, advising states, providers, and payer organizations on the implementation of federal health reform.
Mr. Ray advises clients on all facets of health information technology, providing business and technology strategy, planning, process analysis and implementation services. He has extensive experience guiding healthcare foundations and organizations in synchronizing clinical information technology solutions, and supporting healthcare delivery and healthcare payer organizations in the adoption and implementation of clinical healthcare information technology. In his new role, Mr. Ray will continue to counsel Manatt clients on key health information technology issues, including health information exchange and electronic health record strategies.
“Patricia’s expertise in public healthcare access programs and Joseph’s depth of experience in the challenges of implementing healthcare information technology initiatives are tremendous assets to our national team,” said William S. Bernstein, chair of Manatt’s Healthcare Division. “With the pace of change in the industry, this is a critical time for healthcare.
