Liaison Healthcare and MedcomSoft Partner for Lab & Radiology Connectivity

PR Newswire Association LLC

ATLANTA, Dec. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Liaison Healthcare, a global provider of secure cloud-based integration and data management services and solutions, announced today a strategic partnership with MedcomSoft®, connecting their Record® EHR platform to more than 120 labs and imaging departments currently integrated within the Liaison EMR-Link™ Lab Hub.

MedcomSoft's complete EHR software solution enables healthcare providers to use one single platform to achieve the automation of the majority of tasks required for the efficient and effective management for their practices and practice patients.  MedcomSoft will now connect their customers to the EMR-Link lab hub to provide them with greater access to lab and imaging service providers around the US.

"We have lab orders and results capability in our EHR platform, but expanding to add other lab and radiology interfaces takes us away from our core goals and expertise," said Shawn Long, Chief Executive Officer with MedcomSoft.  "We want to be laser focused on providing our customers an EHR solution that supports all their needs, but we know that it's best to leverage experts for critical patient components. So we are pleased to be working with Liaison and delivering the ability to connect to over 120 lab and radiology interfaces to our customers."

As EHR vendors work to expand their solutions to insure their customers are able to achieve Meaningful Use CPOE objectives, some decide to internally build lab orders and results capabilities. But many times it becomes a resource drain that continues to grow and build upon itself as their customers request more and more lab interfaces. Liaison's EMR-Link is the alternative that does not add costs or require new resources in order to provide enhanced capabilities and scalability.

"EHR providers struggle with the decision to build or buy functionality to enable lab and radiology CPOE," said Gary Palgon, vice president, healthcare solutions, Liaison Healthcare.  "Liaison Healthcare provides another option. Our EMR-Link Partner Program offers a cloud-based solution that is a cost-effective approach providing integrated access to labs currently in our EMR-Link hub, and the ability to rapidly integrate to other labs the practices need; allowing EHR vendors to stay focused on their core business."
