John Davis Receives Prestigious American Award From Lincoln Financial Group

PHILADELPHIA, June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lincoln Financial Distributors, the wholesale distribution subsidiary of Lincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC), today announced that John Davis, principal and founding member of Insurance Designers of America, LLC, an organization dedicated to serving the day-to-day needs of the professional Life Insurance Producer and Financial Planner, has received the prestigious "American Award."

The American Award is presented each year to financial services professionals who combine business performance excellence, outstanding community service and commitment to family. The American Award, which was presented to Davis by Dennis Glass, president and chief executive officer of Lincoln Financial Group, is one of the company's top honors.

Davis is a 42 year industry veteran, and has served on the advisory board of many major insurance companies in the United States. He is actively involved with many U.S. insurance associations including, the Estate Planning Council, and the Association of Advanced Life Underwriting.

In 2000, he was the first recipient of the Beverly Brooks Leadership award, presented by the Dallas Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, in recognition of his exemplary performance and ethical standards as a professional in financial services and community leadership.

Davis earned a bachelor of business administration degree in finance from the University of Houston in 1968. He began his career in 1969 as a brokerage consultantwith the Life Brokerage Division of Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, Houston, TX.

Davis is a registered representative, holds the Chartered Life Underwriter designation, a Financial Counseling Certificate from The American College, and FINRA Series 6, 63 and 26.
