Introducing pm-Assist? Sleep Scoring and Interpretation Service from University Services

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) March 15, 2011

University Services, a Philadelphia-based multi-specialty medical services company, is excited to introduce pm-Assist? Sleep Scoring & Interpretation Service. pm-Assist? allows employers or medical professionals using home sleep testing devices to upload raw data that is scored by Registered Polysomnographic Technicians (RPSGT), interpreted by Board Certified Sleep Physicians, and then receive a diagnostic report in as little as 24 hours compared to a month or more for lab-based sleep testing.

The pm-Assist? program is unique due to the fact that each RPSGT and Board Certified Sleep Physician is an employee of University Services, not a network of unaffiliated physicians or technicians. Our Board Certified Sleep Physicians medically licensed in all 50 states provide a consistent level of service nationwide. Diagnostic reports are issued with treatment recommendations based on the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines. These qualifications provide medical professionals the highest standard in sleep care night after night.

Pm-Assist? meets the demand of companies and healthcare providers looking for an efficient way to test their employees or patients for obstructive sleep apnea. Left untreated, sleep apnea can account for higher risks of accidents, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and even colon cancer. A decrease in healthcare spend can be seen once an individual is treated for their underlying sleep disorder. pm-Assist? allows Medical Directors to use our service to obtain a sleep report by a Board Certified Sleep Physician for insurance reimbursement.

“University Services is very excited about pm-Assist?’s added benefit to medical professionals and companies who are interested in portable-monitoring to help their patients and employees,” commented Dr. Benjamin Gerson, Medical Director of University Services. “pm-Assist? allows input from sleep physicians to treat their patients and employees with the highest level of care.”

“The new PM-Assist? web-based service provides an easy to use, secure and comprehensive method for uploading study data and relevant clinical information to enable thorough analysis and interpretation. This service model enables optimized patient care and dramatically improved economics critical to the improvement of healthcare for the diagnosis and treatment of OSA in the current economic environment. The portal is user friendly and the service prompt,” commented Scott Whitcomb from 1st Line Medical, an independent diagnostic testing facility that provides portable monitoring testing services to Ear, Nose, & Throat specialists nationwide.

Pm-Assist? offers seamless transmission of data through a secure internet connection as well as online study tracking, and statistical analysis. Board Certified Sleep Physicians can review initial evaluations, titrations, re-evaluations, and treatment effectiveness studies. Step-by-step instructions are available for easy uploading & downloading of files.

PM-Assist? is compatible with numerous home sleep testing devices. Stop by our booth at the upcoming American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine 20th Anniversary Meeting on June 10-12 in Minneapolis, MN, or visit http://www.pm-assist.com to sign up for this service and learn more.
