Go Get Your Dream Challenge Offers Top Dreamers Cash Prizes, Mentoring Session with Kathy Ireland

NewsRx

American Family Insurance's Go Get Your Dream Challenge is just the ticket for making dreams come true. The contest beckons anyone with a dream to share it online with their fellow dreamers, add photos and links to videos, and drum up voter support via social media to get nominated as one of America's top dreamers.

Dreamers with the three highest vote totals will receive a cash award to help them realize their dreams, and the grand prize winner will receive a personalized dream development session with motivational mentor Kathy Ireland.

The contest kicked off on Jan. 19 and runs through Feb. 26. Contest rules and entry access are available at longlivedreams.com.

"Americans who report they are pursuing their dreams are happier and healthier than those who are not," said Sarah Pettit, American Family Insurance brand strategy manager. "According to our research, people who pursue their dreams are living better lives, and it's American Family Insurance's role to inspire and enable dreamers by providing proactive insurance protection."

In a survey conducted by Ogilvy & Mather and with expert consultation from the Xavier University Center for the Study of the American Dream, American Family Insurance found that 92 percent of respondents believe in the American dream, but only 12 percent believe they are living it.

"American Family Insurance believes the act of dreaming is powerful and can serve as an inspiration to others," Pettit said. "We look forward to both celebrating the dreams shared by contest participants and helping to make a select few of them come true."

Contest participants choose a category for their dreams (health, career, finances, home, family or passions), enter a dream title, description and up to three photos, and have the option of linking to video. Submissions are included in a dream mosaic on the site.

Entrants and other registered visitors can vote for their favorite dreams, and are encouraged to share their dreams with friends and family via email and social media.

The dreams that garner the top 10 vote totals will be evaluated by a judging panel (including Ireland). The grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 dream fund and be mentored by Ireland in-person. Second- and third-place entries will receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.

"Dreams are powerful. Dreams come true," said Ireland. "American Family Insurance is providing a forum for people who have the courage to believe in themselves. It is my honor and privilege to serve as a dream mentor and facilitate American Family Insurance's wish that dreams in America continue to live and inspire."
