GettingHired, LLC Announces the Addition of Neil Romano, Former Assistant Secretary of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy to Its GettingHired.com Team
BEDMINSTER, N.J., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- GettingHired, LLC announced today the retention of prominent disability employment advocate and former Assistant Secretary of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy, Neil Romano as a Senior Advisor for the company's GettingHired.com division. In this capacity, Mr. Romano will assist CEO Thomas Capato with disability employment strategies for employers and job seekers with disabilities.
Mr. Romano, considered one of the nation's leading authorities in the field of media and public advocacy, has dedicated his career to the marketing of ideas and messages to help save lives and promote public policy. As head of the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), Mr. Romano advised the Secretary of Labor and worked with all DOL agencies to lead a comprehensive and coordinated national policy regarding the employment of people with disabilities in the United States. Additionally, Mr. Romano has played significant roles with the Committee for Purchase from People who are Blind or Severely Disabled as well as the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. He has advised the Association for People in Supported Employment, the U.S. Business Leadership Network, and other disability employment groups. His film, "America's Strength," which documents the inspiring stories of people with disabilities in mainstream employment, is due to be released nationally in the summer of 2010.
