Oct. 04--West Chester Henderson struck for back-to-back touchdowns in the first quarter, including the eventual game-winning score, in a 21-7 victory Friday night over visiting Bishop Shanahan in a Ches-Mont National matchup.

Henderson, The Inquirer's 10th-ranked team in Southeastern Pennsylvania, took the lead on Matt Ginacci's 22-yard touchdown.

The Warriors then got a stop, and Noah Richard returned a punt 65 yards for a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Tre Green, who entered the game as the area's seventh-leading rusher, ran for 127 yards and added insurance with a touchdown in the third quarter to make the score 21-7.

CHES-MONT NATIONAL

West Chester East 45, Avon Grove 14: Steve Borum ran in two scores to help visiting West Chester East build a 31-7 first-half lead.

PIONEER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

Pottsgrove 48, Owen J. Roberts 12: Michael Fowler found ways to score whichever way he touched the ball for the visiting Falcons. He had touchdown receptions of 39 and 56 yards and returned two kickoffs for scores.

CATHOLIC LEAGUE AA

Lansdale Catholic 36, Bishop McDevitt 25: Ryan Quigley scored on both sides of the ball in Lansdale Catholic's win at Wissahickon. He had three rushing touchdowns and an interception return for a score.

CENTRAL LEAGUE

Ridley 29, Upper Darby 14: Malik Young had touchdown runs of 75 and 35 yards for host Ridley.

PUBLIC LEAGUE AAAA INDEPENDENCE

Martin Luther King 50, Northeast 49 (OT): Nasir Boykin helped King come back from a 42-21 deficit before he made two plays to win the game in overtime at the Northwest Super Site. Boykin, who finished with four TDs passing and two rushing, ran in a 1-yard score in overtime and found Paul Sanchez for the game-winning, two-point conversion.

Postponement: Ben Franklin at Lincoln was postponed because of a bomb threat received at Lincoln around 2:30 Friday. The game was not immediately rescheduled.

PUBLIC LEAGUE AAA

Boys' Latin 20, Dobbins 18: Troy Hester scrambled and found Maurice Johns in the left corner of the end zone with 20 seconds left to get Boys' Latin a win at Dobbins.

NONLEAGUE

St. Joseph's Prep 49, Malvern Prep 28: No. 7 St. Joseph's Prep rebounded from three straight losses to trump 14th-ranked Malvern Prep behind Jack Clements' two passing and two rushing TDs. His second passing score went to John Reid.

Earlier Friday, Reid, a Penn State recruit, was named to the 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which will be played at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Jan. 3.

Penn Charter 34, Roxborough 14: Cody Sweeney ran for 143 yards and a score in the Quakers' home victory over Roxborough.

Father Judge 63, Fels 22: Yeedee Thaenrat, the sixth-leading rusher in Southeastern Pennsylvania entering the game, had another standout performance, running for 187 yards and four touchdowns on just 11 carries at Northeast.

Thaenrat also caught a touchdown pass.
