Esurance Launches Access Pass for SXSW

Direct-to-consumer insurance company Esurance announced that it is debuting the Esurance Access Pass, which will let people use Twitter to gain access to the hottest events during all nine days of SXSW.

According to a release, the passes use radio frequency identification (RFID) technology that can unlock opportunities to score VIP or priority access to events and showcases hosted by Mashable, Pandora, Pitchfork, SPIN, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and VIBE during SXSW Interactive and SXSW Music.

Both official SXSW badge-holders and non badge-holders can register for Esurance Access Passes at the Glove Box, Esurance's hub in the Austin Convention Center.

"SXSW is an incredibly exciting place to be, but all of the events and time spent in long lines can be overwhelming for attendees," says Esurance VP of Marketing Darren Howard. "The Esurance Access Pass is our answer to that. With the help of technology and some incredible partners, we're making the SXSW experience smarter, easier, and more enjoyable for as many people as we can."

The company noted that Access Pass holders will also gain exclusive entry to the Esurance Fuel Lounge (6th and Trinity), an exclusive retreat powered by Fuelcaster, Esurance's free online tool that predicts whether gas prices will rise or fall in a particular ZIP Code in the next 24 hours.

In addition to comfortable seating and charging stations, the Fuel Lounge will feature a Fuelcaster demo. Esurance will give away free, fresh-pressed juice from Juiceland** to people who try Fuelcaster, and they will also have a chance to win $50 Visa gift cards, which they can use the next time they fuel up.

Esurance said that the Access Passes can also be used for a chance to win tech prizes like Mophie Juice Packs, GoPro cameras, Xboxconsoles and iPads at the Glove Box. Plus, Esurance will send registered users personalized daily itineraries based on their SXSW preferences.
