May 01--For older folks like me with short memories who are truly reeling in the years, here's a reminder.

Tickets for Steely Dan's Aug. 9 concert on Beach 11 at Presque Isle State Park go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m.

Unlike the Crosby, Stills & Nash show of two years ago, this one will feature an opening act. Whoever tours with Steely Dan nationally will also play at Presque Isle, which is good news. Walter Becker and Donald Fagen usually select strong touring mates, like -- a few years ago -- Steve Winwood.

Tickets are $150 and $100. The higher price includes a preshow party with wine, beer and hors d'ouevres from 5 to 7 p.m. That party, if you ask me, is easily worth the extra price. You hang out on the beach with friends; the setting is cool, casual and the anticipation builds for the show. It also includes preferred parking.

Capacity for this concert is 4,000. Wherever you sit, you'll have a good view.

I'm still waiting for the rest of the lineup for 8 Great Tuesdays, which will kick off July 8. I already know where I'll head for an after-party that night, though. Zydeco great Terrance Simien will play Docksider on July 8 at 10 p.m. Remember, he preceded Walter Trout at the first 8 Great Tuesdays show of 2013.

Speaking of Trout, the blues-guitar giant is severely ill with liver disease; he's awaiting a liver transplant. He's lost more than 100 pounds. The situation is sad.

Fans can help out; visit www.youcaring.com and search for his name. The man has given his life to the blues, and to delighting fans with some of the most remarkable guitar playing on the planet.

Despite being ill, Trout managed to record a new album during 2013. "The Blues Came Callin'" will be released on June 10, along with his official biography, "Rescued From Reality -- the Life and Times of Walter Trout."

<p>Seneca Allegany Casino already had Katey Sagal from "Sons of Anarchy" booked to play on May 30.

Now, that weekend also includes a Q&A session on May 31 at 3 p.m. with "Anarchy" stars Sagal, Tommy Flanagan (Chibs) and David Labrava (Happy). Tickets are $20, available at Ticketmaster.

Film at the Erie Art Museum will announce its summer season with a kick-off party on June 11. We do know one title to expect, though, a 50th anniversary screening of the Beatles classic, "A Hard Days Night."

The summer series will include 10 films never shown in the region, plus two Skype Q&A sessions with filmmakers.

The Bad-Ass Film Festival will remember Noah Rogers, one of its founders, by screening his favorite film "Magnolia" today at 8 p.m. at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania'sPogue Student Center. Cost is $10. Rogers, 27, died in January.
