Duck Creek Technologies and Auto-Owners Insurance Company Celebrate Five-Years of Successful Business
Bolivar, MO, September 30, 2008 - Duck Creek Technologies, a leading provider of software and service solutions for the insurance industry, today announced that the Auto-Owners Insurance Company and Duck Creek Technologies celebrated the fifth anniversary of their business relationship on Friday, August 1, 2008, at Auto-Owners’ corporate offices in Lansing, Michigan.
Auto-Owners planned and hosted a luncheon celebration, with about 40 of their employees attending from various departments including Information Technology, Actuarial, and Underwriting. “Our hosts went all out and we shared many fun and positive stories that have taken place with our companies over the years”, said Doug Roller, Chairman of Duck Creek. “This has been a win-win relationship since the beginning,” said Bob Buchanan, Senior Vice-President of Information Technology at Auto-Owners. “We wanted to formally thank Duck Creek for truly being a great partner for the past five years.”
Since signing five years ago, Auto-Owners has leveraged Duck Creek’s rating solution to support its Web portals, quoting systems, rate-modeling systems, and policy administration systems. Auto-Owners initial implementations included automobile and personal property lines. They have since added garage liability, dealers blanket, business owners, workers compensation, and executive umbrella and now Auto-Owners processes approximately $3.1 billion direct written premium within the Duck Creek Solution. Auto-Owners is represented by over 6,100 agencies in 25 states, with most of those agents using the online quoting systems supported by the Duck Creek rating solution. Duck Creek also supports Auto-Owners’ 1,500+ internal users who process over 50,000 transactions a day.
“I have been very pleased with both the performance of Duck Creek's rating engine solution, as well as their customer support,” Buchanan commented. “Having Duck Creek as a key component in our core systems has enabled us to rate up to 160 policies per second in a batch environment. The speed of our Duck Creek rating solution has allowed us to transform many of our batch policy processes into real-time.”
