Dogington Post and Merrick Pet Care Offer Live Pet Insurance Seminar with Dr. Doug Kenney

As part of a larger initiative to educate pet parents on how to have the healthiest and happiest dogs and promote the importance of responsible dog parenting, The Dogington Post and Merrick Pet Care have teamed up to create “Merrick Pet Care’s Dogington University,” a series of eight live online seminars presented by top animal health experts, which began June 6th and continues throughout the month of June. On Wednesday, June 19 at 7:00PM EST, Dr. Doug Kenney will present a live, free, one-hour seminar to readers and fans of the Dogington Post on the topic of pet health insurance.

Dr. Kenney is a 1977 graduate of Auburn University’s School of Veterinary Medicine and practices small animal medicine and surgery at Houston Levee Animal Hospital in Cordova, Tennessee. He has a special interest in wellness care and is the author of The Wise Pet Owner, teaching pet owners to save money on their pet’s healthcare by taking steps to prevent many problems that veterinarians see everyday.

He has also designed the Pet Insurance Toolkit,  which helps pet owners understand how pet insurance works and guides them through the research necessary to make an informed decision when choosing a pet insurance company and policy to insure their pet.

Dr. Kenney also authors a blog, Your Pet Insurance Guide, that covers the pet insurance industry in the United States. He hosts the Pet Insurance Guide Podcast, currently the only podcast dedicated solely to this topic. He is also the author of the Healthy Assurance blog on petMD.

During his hour long webinar with Dogington University, Dr. Kenney will answer audience questions about pet insurance and how to choose the right company and policy to fit their specific needs. He says, "Perhaps the number one question asked by pet owners who are considering the purchase of pet insurance for their pet is, 'Which pet insurance company is the best?' A better question to ask is, 'Which pet insurance company is the best one to insure my pet?'"
