CNA Appoints Kent Skidmore Vice President of Its New Birmingham Branch
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CNA Financial Corporation (NYSE: CNA) announced Kent Skidmore as vice president of its Birmingham branch, one of five new branch locations supporting our evolving strategy for CNA’s Worldwide Field Operations. Our new Chicago Branch opened in October, and Birmingham, Alabama, joins Los Angeles and Washington D.C. with planned spring openings. Westchester County, New York, is scheduled to open later this year.
As branch vice president, Skidmore will be responsible for establishing the new office; synchronizing its operations with CNA’s strategic goals for long-term success, including increasing local authority at the point of sale; and, improving service to agents and brokers in this territory.
He brings more than 17 years of insurance industry experience to this position, including his most-recent role as assistant vice president in CNA’s Atlanta branch, where he was responsible for field underwriting management, marketing and distribution for the Specialty Lines portfolio. Prior to joining CNA, Skidmore held underwriting, sales and field management roles with AIG and Willis North America.
The Birmingham branch is scheduled to open in early spring and will be located at Two Chase Corporate Drive, Suite 280, Birmingham, Alabama. It is part of the Southeastern zone, one of six geographic zones in CNA’s U.S. field structure. This new branch continues CNA’s “winning company” strategy, announced in 2009, by extending its geographic footprint and enabling closer proximity to its agents, brokers and customers. For more information about CNA’s Birmingham branch and its commercial insurance solutions, call Skidmore at the Atlanta branch, 678-473-3700 or visit www.cna.com.
