BioMotion of America Selects Grafica for Branding and PR; Diagnostic Start-Up Plans to Pioneer Motion Capture Technology in Healthcare and Sports Medicine
CHESTER, N.J., January 18 - Today, GraficaGroup officially announced that BioMotion of America, LLC has retained the agency for brand marketing and public relations. BioMotion provides synchronized 3D medical diagnostic and functional evaluation services for physicians, insurers, employers, athletic trainers, and others involved in the treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries. The company operates a motion analysis lab in Neptune, N.J., and has established partnerships in Pennsylvania, California, and Florida. Initially, Grafica will provide brand development and public relations as BioMotion continues to generate awareness about its services among physicians and sports medicine practitioners.
"We expect 2006 to be a breakout year for BioMotion of America, and we needed to select the right agency to facilitate brand marketing and public relations, as well as Web site design and development -- all of which and more can be found at Grafica," said Bill Gilmour, CEO, BioMotion of America. "Currently, BioMotion stands alone as a pioneer in commercializing synchronized three-dimensional motion analysis-based medical diagnostic imaging. Retaining Grafica is a key step toward communicating our first-to-market positioning to external audiences, which includes doctors, sports coaches, and potential investors."
Millions of people visit doctors, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals seeking relief from musculoskeletal (muscle, bone, and joint) injuries, as well as ways to prevent injuries by improving physical conditioning and performance. A key element in the traditional evaluation process is the use of diagnostic imaging, including X-ray, MRI, and CT scans, yet each of these technologies provides only a static image that can limit the accuracy of an effective diagnosis.
BioMotion delivers a new generation of imaging - 3D Motionprint(SM) - a technology providing medical diagnostic, dynamic, and functional understanding of abilities and abnormalities captured from a body in motion. According to Gilmour, the market for diagnostic imaging hit nearly $70 billion in 2000 in the U.S. alone and there are about 4,500 imaging sites across the country primarily utilizing MRI systems. The number of MRI scans is projected to grow at 15 percent annually through 2006, which presents a solid market opportunity to evolve musculoskeletal diagnostics through motion capture services.
"BioMotion of America has all the pieces in place to capitalize on the untapped market in synchronized 3D medical diagnosis and functional evaluation," said Debra Taeschler, President and CEO, GraficaGroup. "We are excited by the growth potential of BioMotion and pleased to partner with them as they embark on their aggressive growth plans."
Grafica's first assignment is to support BioMotion Labs of New Jersey, the flagship facility of BioMotion of America, in a unique event that highlights the potential for 3D motion capture in athletics. On February 11, internationally known baseball pitching guru, Tom House, will appear at Hit Dogs Baseball Training Facility in Toms River to discuss how he uses motion capture technology to improve performance and prevent injuries in pitchers from the little league to the professional ranks. BioMotion will also present a demonstration of motion capture technology and an introduction to its medical diagnosis and functional evaluation services. The event is open to physicians and athletic coaches and trainers. For more information, contact Mark Devaney at 908.879.2169, ext. 115 or [email protected] .
