BRIEF: Florida Man Sentenced For Phone Threats To Hartford Insurer [The Hartford Courant]

Oct. 19--NEW HAVEN -- A Florida man was sentenced Thursday to three years of probation for making hundreds of harassing calls to employees at the Travelers insurance company, including voice messages saying he hopes God will kill them.

Brent Q. Hansen, of Seminole, Fla., left 270 messages for workers, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Connecticut. In the messages, he repeatedly said that the employees were cursed and that God would damn their souls. He also sent harassing emails.

Special conditions of his probation include that he receive mental health evaluation and treatment.

In Sept. 2011, federal agents visiting his Florida home warned Hansen to stop harassing employees, but the messages continued, officials said.

Hansen has been held since his arrest on July 5. He pleaded guilty to one count of making harassing telephone calls.
