BRIEF: Fire damages home in Corbett|

Nov. 29--A Wednesday morning fire in Corbett damaged a house under renovation, a fire official said.

The house on Mary Lou Street was owned by Kenny Youngs Jr., who had moved next door when the work was being done. A spark from a pellet stove in the unoccupied house may have started the fire, Downsville Fire Chief Mark Mattson said.

The department was toned out at about 2:40 a.m. and made a really good stop to keep the fire damage around the chimney, Mattson said. There was also smoke and water damage, but the homeowner had insurance and should be able to repair the structure, Mattson said.

Fire departments from East Branch and Walton provided mutual aid. There were about 35 firefighters at the scene and nobody was injured, Mattson said.
