BRIEF: Cathedral Prep dominates McDowell at Pink the Rink charity event

Nov. 29--The Cathedral Prep Ramblers, paced by two goals and three assists from Trevor Faulkner, overwhelmed the McDowell Trojans 10-1 in PIHL non-league action Wednesday night.

The fourth annual "Pink the Rink" game was held at Erie Insurance Arena. Proceeds benefitted the Regional Cancer Centers and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Jax Stone, a 9-year-old student at Tracy Elementary School, dropped the ceremonial puck before the game. Stone is undergoing treatment for a rare brain tumor.

Prep (7-2-1) scored four goals in each of the second and third periods. Besides Faulkner, Ben Eliason and Brandon Gotkin also scored twice for the Ramblers.

McDowell (4-3-1) scored its lone goal in the second period when Jake King got the puck past Grant Kennedy, Prep's starting goaltender. Kennedy made 19 saves before giving way to backup Trent Faulkner.
