Amalgamated Life And Alicare Extend Call Center Hours To Saturdays

White Plains, NY, September 10, 2009 – Amalgamated Life Insurance and its affiliate, Alicare, Inc., announced today that their Customer Service Call Center is now open on Saturdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm EST to better serve their clients. Amalgamated Life understands the time constraints placed on many of its customers due to work, family or school obligations. Many customers do not have the opportunity to contact the Customer Service Center during core business hours. In order to accommodate clients’ varying schedules, the Amalgamated Life Call Center is now open on Saturdays providing the same excellent service as always.
In addition, in order to improve their clients’ benefit experience even more Amalgamated Life has made many technological and structural improvements to enhance their customer service capabilities. Their new updated phone system with increased capacity to handle more calls can also now recognize each caller’s unique reason for calling, and match their calls with the most qualified customer service representatives. The new ‘Provider Portal’ on the Amalgamated Life website enables providers to view claim status details and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) online. A portal for member inquiries will be made available by year end.
