Alliant Insurance Services Names Rick Shamis Senior Vice President

Shamis is widely considered one of the industry's most talented and highly regarded construction risk advisors.

Shamis will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of construction risk management products and services to clients and prospects throughout the United States. He will provide "state of the art" risk advice to Alliant's contractor clients, including coverage enhancements and innovative insurance program design.

Shamis brings 30 years of experience in property and casualty marketing, servicing, and troubleshooting for both national and international construction firms. He works closely with risk management and finance departments to ensure projects are completed safely and on time. He is a frequent speaker at the IRMI Construction Risk Conference and received the International Risk Management Institute's (IRMI) "Words of Wisdom" Award for his academic leadership in the advancement of insurance education. Shamis received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Northern State University and holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.

Joining Shamis at Alliant as First Vice President is Kathleen Semler, who has 30 years of experience in property and casualty marketing, account servicing, claims advocacy, and complex project placement for national and foreign-based construction firms. She will be responsible for managing accounts, servicing and delivering coverage enhancements, and delivering unique program design structures.

Shamis and Semler will be based in the Chicago office of Alliant.
