Under Public Act 14-168 - An Act Concerning Notice of Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, Affiliations of Group Medical Practices And Hospital Admissions, Medical Foundations And Certificates of Need - parties to any transaction resulting in a material change to a group medical practice must notify the Attorney General at least 30 days prior to the effective date of the transaction beginning on
In particular, hospitals, health systems and certain of their affiliates must provide the Attorney General with notice of proposed transactions involving group practices comprised of two or more physicians. Additionally, proposed transactions between or among group practices that result in a group practice comprised of eight or more physicians will be required to provide notice.
