$4.9 Million Available in Cooperative Agreements for Crop Insurance Education

WASHINGTON, May 15 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that it expects to award up to 50 cooperative agreements for crop insurance education and information in Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.
The estimated total program funding available was cited as $4,850,000 with a ceiling of $613,000 for each award in the program.
This funding opportunity is open to state, county, city, township and special district governments; Native American tribal governments and organizations; institutions of higher education; Historically Black Colleges and Universities; Tribally-Controlled Colleges and Universities; non-profits; for-profits; small businesses; eligible agencies of the federal government; and faith-based or community organizations.
The funding opportunity number is USDA-TS-RMED-2017 (CFDA 10.458). It was posted on May 11 with an application closing date of July 10.
