250-person Anesthesiology Practice Partners with McKesson to Unify Revenue Cycle Management Operations

McKesson’s Revenue Management Solutions to streamline billing and practice management

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Greater Florida Anesthesiologists (GFA), a large practice created by the recent merger of five independent anesthesiology groups, has chosen McKesson’s Revenue Management Solutions (RMS) to lead its medical billing and practice management operations. GFA selected McKesson for its industry-leading expertise, its history of success partnering with anesthesiology practices of all models and sizes and its ability to support future growth with a comprehensive approach to revenue management. McKesson is the nation’s largest provider of anesthesiology billing, coding documentation, compliance and practice management solutions.

With 100 anesthesiologists, 150 certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) and anesthesia assistants (AAs), and affiliations with hospitals and outpatient surgery centers across the state, GFA’s objective is to integrate operations to reduce costs and insure compliant billing with appropriate reimbursements for services rendered across its many anesthesia subspecialties.

“With the formation of GFA, we planned to establish an in-house department to enhance revenue capture and to streamline billing and collections,” said Jon Trezona, Executive Director of Greater Florida Anesthesiologists. “However, McKesson’s experience and infrastructure offer us a turnkey solution, enabling us to focus more on patient care and giving us confidence that our revenue operations will be well-run. We believe this will greatly improve our business agility and position us for future growth.”

“At McKesson, we understand the impact of healthcare reform, compliance regulations and the emergence of outpatient surgery centers on the anesthesiology market,” said Patrick Leonard, senior vice president and general manager, RMS. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to share best practices with progressive groups like GFA and look forward to working as a team to address their revenue management challenges.”

McKesson’s RMS for Anesthesiology includes more than 400 people dedicated to serving approximately 3,000 anesthesiologists nationwide, as they grow revenues, control costs and reduce regulatory risk. For more information on RMS for Anesthesiology, visit our website at www.mckesson.com/anesthesiologyservices or call 800-300-2599.

McKesson’s RMS group is the nation’s leading provider of medical billing and revenue cycle management services with more than 1,000 customers. The group is supported by a team of 4,000 employees dedicated to helping physicians grow revenues, control costs and reduce regulatory risk.
