14 arrests in M’boro drug bust [Middlesboro Daily News, Ky.]
Aug. 31--MIDDLESBORO -- Middlesboro Police began the week serving warrants in connection with a several month-long drug trafficking investigation.
Detective Joe Holder led the investigation that resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals and the execution of 25 warrants for drug trafficking and 5 more for other drug-related charges.
For investigations like these, police rely heavily on tips from the public.
"We're trying to get the public to give us information," said Lt. David Buis, who assisted with the service of the warrants. "The more information we can get, the more people we can get, and that makes it safer for all of us."
Lieutenant Buis wants tipsters to know that each call is appreciated and explored, but notes that investigations like this one take time, so arrests aren't often made immediately following a tip.
"A lot of the people we get tips on, we're already working on. You sometimes just don't see results until six or eight months down the road," stated Lt. Buis.
Assisting Detective Holder and Lieutenant Buis were Lt. Mike Hensley, Lt. Tom Busic, and Officers Josh Burchett, Floyd Patterson, and Joey Brigmon.
Middlesboro Police ask that any citizen with information about illegal drug-related activities contact Detective Holder at (606)248-3636.
