Brightway Insurance Announces its Agency of the Year and New Agency of the Year

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (PRWEB) January 27, 2015

Brightway Insurance, Inc., a national property/casualty insurance retailer selling through a network of franchised independent agencies throughout the country, has named the Boca Raton agency owned by Eric Rand its Agency of the Year.

This designation, awarded annually, goes to the agency open for more than one full year with the most new business written premium.

Rand, new to the insurance industry, opened his agency in January 2010. By January 2014, he grew it into a $14.6 million agency. In 2014, he and his seven-person team added another 2,600 customers, driving his agency's written premium to more than $17 million, making his the largest agency in the Brightway system.

Brightway also announced its New Agency of the Year. This award goes to an agency that opened in 2013 and that wrote the most new business premium of all others that opened that year. This award was given to Dave Merrick of Panama City Beach, Fla. This agency wrote 24 percent more new business premium in its first full year than its other nine new agency counterparts.

"Coming in from outside the industry and growing an agency to $17 million in written premium in five years is an incredible accomplishment that speaks to the support Brightway offers franchisees," said Brightway President Talman Howard. "The ability to focus on new business sales, while we handle the service, attracts the best sales people, which produces the greatest results."

Brightway independent agents have access to more than twice as many insurance companies as other independent agents and they focus strictly on selling and growing their books of business, while service, carrier relationships and technology are handled centrally. As a result, Brightway agents consistently sell more new personal lines business than do traditional independent agents.

Brightway began franchising operations in 2008, is privately owned and operates 115 franchise locations in eight states. In 2014, the company was named a Top 500 Franchise by Entrepreneur magazine for the second year in a row, the 9th Best Franchise with Less Than $150,000 in Entry Costs by Forbes, and the company was also named to Florida's Fast 100 by Florida Business Journals for the second year in a row.
