Good2Go® Introduces Cell Phone Safety Discount

PR Newswire Association LLC

ATLANTA, May 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Good2Go®, specialists in offering minimum coverage auto insurance, announced that their Cell Phone Safety Discount is now available in Pennsylvania. Customers receive 5% off bodily injury, property damage, and collision coverage per vehicle when they install a device that blocks distracting phone functions such as text messaging, email, and Internet browsing. Full details are available at www.good2go.com/cell-phone-safety-discount.html.

Good2Go(R) Auto Insurance introduces the Cell Phone Safety Discount for drivers who install text blocking devices to reward drivers taking action to be safer and more responsible on the road. To receive the discount, drivers simply install a qualifying text blocking device in their vehicle and provide a copy of the receipt as proof of purchase via email, fax, or postal service. Text blockers are hardware/software that disable the data functions of the phone (e.g. texting, email, and Internet browsing) while the vehicle is in motion, allowing essential call functionality such as 911 emergency calls.

Pennsylvania's Anti-Texting Law went into effect March 8, 2012. The law encourages drivers to focus on the road and refrain from distracting driving behaviors. Texting while driving is prohibited for all drivers and is a primary offense that carries a $50 fine.

The law prohibits the use of an Interactive Wireless Communication Device (IWCD) to send, read, or write a text-based communication while the vehicle is in motion. Prohibited devices include: mobile phones, personal digital assistants, portable or mobile computers or similar devices that can be used for texting, instant messaging, emailing, or Internet browsing.

Pennsylvania joins 42 other states in banning texting while driving. To help increase awareness about this issue in the Keystone State and to help save lives, Good2Go® introduced this discount in the hopes that it would prompt others to take action and incentivize those who install text blocking devices to be safer, more responsible drivers.
