Focused Growth. Proven Execution. Earned Trust.
How Ibexis has grown with focus and discipline while redefining what it means to compete in today’s annuity market.
Momentum in today’s annuity market is easy to measure. Sustaining it—without sacrificing service, competitiveness, or trust—is harder. That’s where Ibexis has carved out its position, according to President and CEO Nate Gemmiti.
“What makes us different is that we’ve demonstrated five years of executing on a very clear business plan,” Gemmiti says. “We’ve built a company that is technology-focused, paired with responsive customer service, offering competitive products and compensation, all backed by strong financial discipline.”
That deliberate approach has positioned Ibexis in a distinct segment of the market.
“When I look at the market, I see three groups,” he explains. “Established players that have been around for a long time, new entrants still trying to find their footing, and a small group that has traction, a reliable track record, and established partnerships. That’s where we are.”
Trust Through Execution
Discipline and consistency have become a defining advantage. Rather than chasing rapid expansion or reacting to short-term market shifts, Ibexis has remained firmly anchored to its original strategy.
“The annuity business is built on trust,” Gemmiti says. “Doing what you say you’re going to do everyday matters. Small missteps can become big problems.”
That mindset extends across product design, distribution, and operations. Rather than building in isolation, Ibexis works closely with a select group of partners, using their insight to shape solutions that drive shared success.
“We built the company from day one with direct input from our partners,” he says. “That feedback continues to guide our decisions — ensuring we’re creating solutions that work in the real world and deliver better outcomes for everyone involved.
Growth that Outpaces the Market
The results of that approach are difficult to ignore. In a year when indexed annuity sales grew modestly across the industry, Ibexis significantly outpaced the market.
“In a relatively flat environment, we grew by more than 40%,” Gemmiti says. “That’s a combination of deepening relationships with existing advisors and bringing new advisors into the fold every day.”
According to LIMRA estimates, overall indexed annuity sales increased by just 1% during the same period.
That level of growth also creates opportunities to further strengthen and elevate service standards.
“Driving growth while maintaining service levels is the focus,” Gemmiti says. “We’re constantly monitoring the data to make sure we’re delivering consistent results.”
Technology as a Foundation, Not a Feature
At the center of that consistency is Ibexis’ fully digital platform. Unlike many competitors burdened by legacy systems, the company was built from the ground up with technology at its core.
“We have granular data on every piece of business from the moment an application comes in to when money goes out the door,” Gemmiti says. “That level of insight allows us to see exactly where things are working and where we need to improve.”
The impact is measurable. Even as volumes have increased, processing speeds have improved, an uncommon result in a scaling organization.
“Good data leads to good decisions” Gemmiti adds. “And that allows us to stay ahead of our growth curve while maintaining some of the strongest service metrics in the industry.”
Technology is also shaping product innovation. With modern infrastructure, Ibexis can design and implement features that may be difficult or impossible for competitors constrained by older systems.
“A clean technology platform gives us agility,” Gemmiti explains. “We can respond faster, build differentiated features, and adapt to what the market is telling us.”
Innovation That Simplifies
That responsiveness is especially important in a market where product complexity continues to increase, and client expectations are evolving.
Gemmiti sees a growing contrast between traditional fixed indexed annuities and registered index-linked annuities (RILAs), with many clients searching for a middle ground.
“There are clients who look at a traditional FIA and ask, ‘Can I do a little better?’” he says. “And others who look at a RILA and worry about downside risk.”
Ibexis has responded by developing solutions designed to bridge that gap, offering enhanced upside potential while maintaining defined protection.
“The key is delivering meaningful value without overcomplicating the product,” Gemmiti says. “That’s where focus really matters.”
Deep Partnerships
As Ibexis expands, it continues to do so through the same partnership-driven model that defined its early growth. Even as it moves into the broker-dealer and bank space it is designed to enhance existing IMO relationships.
“We didn’t buy a company. We built one,” Gemmiti says. “And we built it specifically for the IMO channel, with a focus on strong partnerships.”
That intentional approach continues to guide how the business evolves.
“For us, it’s about strengthening our partnerships,” Gemmiti explains. “Any expansion we make is in service of helping our IMO partners grow, not competing with them.”
That philosophy reinforces a broader commitment to alignment across the business.
“When you have open, honest conversations with your partners about everything from product design to process, you arrive at stronger, more effective solutions,” he says.
A Disciplined Approach to Risk
Beyond growth and innovation, Ibexis has also taken a measured approach to portfolio management, an area of increasing scrutiny across the industry.
“We’ve been very deliberate in how we’ve built our investment portfolio,” Gemmiti says. “We haven’t had to stretch for yield or take on unnecessary risk to remain competitive.”
That discipline extends to aligning assets and liabilities, managing liquidity, and maintaining long-term sustainability.
“It’s not just about building strong products,” he explains. “It’s about building a durable company that can stand behind those products over time.”
Preparing for What Comes Next
While fixed indexed annuities remain a core focus, Gemmiti is closely watching shifts across the broader retirement landscape, particularly the continued rise of RILAs and the appetite for income solutions.
“The income conversation is only getting louder,” he says. “As clients move from accumulation to decumulation, this will continue to be an area of importance for clients.”
Ibexis is exploring opportunities in that space but remains disciplined in its approach.
“We’re not going to enter any market unless we believe we can deliver something best-in-class,” Gemmiti says. “That’s been our approach from the beginning.”
Redefining Advisor Expectations
For advisors, the changing landscape presents both opportunity and complexity. More choice can be beneficial, but only if it’s paired with clarity and confidence.
“Advisors today have more options than ever,” Gemmiti says. “The challenge is knowing which partners they can rely on to deliver consistently.” That’s the perception Ibexis aims to own.
“I want advisors to think of us as a partner they can trust. One that’s growing, but doing so responsibly,” he says. “They should feel confident that they can grow their business with us while enhancing what they’re delivering to clients.”
Defining Focused Growth
As Ibexis looks ahead, Gemmiti says the strategy remains consistent even as the company scales.
“Focused growth is about growing without sacrificing service,” Gemmiti says. “It means staying true to our partners, listening to their needs, and being responsive.”
It also means maintaining discipline in a market that often rewards short-term gains over long-term stability.
“We won’t ever be everything to everyone,” he adds. “But we want to be excellent at everything we do.”
That clarity of purpose — paired with operating discipline and a platform built to scale — positions Ibexis as a long-term partner for advisors navigating a more complex annuity landscape.
