National Life Group launches RapidProtect: Instant-decision life insurance with lifelong coverage

In celebration of Life Insurance Awareness Month, National Life Group has unveiled RapidProtect, a groundbreaking instant-decision indexed universal life (IUL) insurance product. Designed for speed, simplicity, and lifelong protection, RapidProtect can allow applicants to get a decision on coverage in minutes — with no medical tests or lab work required.

RapidProtect is tailored for middle-market families seeking affordable, fast, and reliable life insurance. Coverage ranges from $50,000 to $500,000, available to adults and juveniles ages 0–60.

Key Benefits of RapidProtect Life Insurance:

  • Instant Decision: Applicants know immediately if they qualify for death benefit coverage.
  • Coverage for More Families: Available for adults and juveniles, ages 0–60.
  • Simplified Process: No medical tests; limited health questions.
  • Living Benefits: Access to National Life’s broad suite of Accelerated Benefits Riders (ABRs), including an industry-first Alzheimer’s Disease rider.
  • Speed and Transparency: Underwriting powered by data-driven prediction, with results delivered within minutes. Applicants receive the top three reasons for the underwriting decision, enhancing clarity for clients and agents.

Meeting Modern Expectations

The launch of RapidProtect comes at a pivotal time. Consumers increasingly expect fast, transparent financial services, and traditional life insurance processes often pose a barrier with lengthy paperwork and medical exams. RapidProtect addresses this demand, offering peace of mind and lifelong protection “in an instant.”

“With RapidProtect, we’re delivering on our promise to meet families where they are — with speed, simplicity, and lifelong protection,” said Kristin Cook, SVP at National Life Group. “This product in combination with our Accelerated Benefit Riders is transformational for the industry and especially for underserved middle-market clients.”

National Life Group is an innovator and leading provider of IUL through its flagship product, FlexLife. RapidProtect strengthens its leadership in the indexed universal life insurance market.

National Life Group® is a trade name of National Life Insurance Company, founded in Montpelier, Vermont, in 1848, Life Insurance Company of the Southwest, Addison, Texas, chartered in 1955, and their affiliates.  Each company of National Life Group is solely responsible for its own financial condition and contractual obligations.  Life Insurance Company of the Southwest is not an authorized insurer in New York and does not conduct insurance business in New York.

Living benefits are provided by no-additional-premium Accelerated Benefits Riders (ABRs). Payment of accelerated benefits will reduce the cash value and death benefit otherwise payable under the policy. Receipt of accelerated benefits may be a taxable event, may affect your eligibility for public assistance programs, and may reduce or eliminate other policy and rider benefits. Please consult your personal tax advisor to determine the tax status of any benefits paid under this rider and with social service agencies concerning how receipt of such a payment will affect you. Riders are supplemental benefits that can be added to a life insurance policy and are not suitable unless you also have a need for life insurance. Riders are optional and may not be available in all states or on all products. Guarantees are dependent upon the claims-paying ability of the issuing company. Rapid Protect is not available in New York.
