National Life Group honors Maram Alaiwat with the Agent Do Good Award
MONTPELIER, Vt. and ADDISON, Tx. (October 24, 2025) – National Life Group proudly announces that Maram Alaiwat, financial advisor and founder of Maram Financial Services in Detroit, Michigan, has been named the latest recipient of the Agent Do Good Award. Alaiwat is recognized not only for her professional excellence but for her enduring commitment to empowering communities through education, equity, and public health, embodying National Life’s values of Do Good. Lasting Community Impact
Beyond her work as a trusted financial advisor, Alaiwat devotes her time, strategy, and personal resources to two major nonprofit organizations, to which she will direct her $7,500 award:
- Detroit PBS – Trustee since 2020
- American Lung Association – Michigan – President & Board Chair since 2024, Board Member since 2019 and Regional Board Member since 2021, Midland States
At Detroit PBS, Alaiwat helped launch the Michigan Learning Channel, a free, broadcast-based K–12 education platform now reaching more than 500,000 monthly viewers statewide. She also spearheaded reforms to strengthen the alignment of PBS investments with community values, eliminating discriminatory and tobacco-related holdings.
At the American Lung Association, she has championed clean air initiatives, led board advocacy efforts to pass Michigan’s Cancer Drug Parity Act, and worked to help close illegal smoke shops selling to underage youth. She also supports nationwide campaigns for Medicare oxygen reform and has sponsored efforts to fund initiatives like planting 8,000+ trees to improve air quality.
“Her leadership isn’t performative. It’s strategic, impactful, and lived. She doesn’t just support causes—she transforms them from the inside out,” Boyd said.
