EquiTrust Releases Fixed Index Annuity with No-Fee, Patent-Pending 40% Boost

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA — EquiTrust Life Insurance Company has announced the launch of SmartBoost Index, a first-of-its-kind fixed index annuity (FIA) that delivers a patent-pending 40% boost to help consumers secure guaranteed1 accumulation growth and enhance the value of their legacy — from day one.

Designed for people seeking both growth and protection, SmartBoost Index combines the market-linked interest potential of an FIA with powerful built-in guarantees, including:

  • Guaranteed minimum growth: The value of the contract will grow to at least 140% of the initial premium over 10 years — regardless of market conditions
  • Immediate 40% boost on death benefit: Provides an instant 40% increase to the single premium for the death benefit, if taken over 60 months.2
  • No fees for the boost: The growth and boost features are built in at no additional cost.
  • Principal protection: No exposure to market losses.

“SmartBoost Index goes beyond offering yet another annuity bonus,” says Heather Kane, EquiTrust’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It’s a game-changing boost strategy designed to deliver guaranteed results while also retaining the capacity for market-based growth potential — without charging clients a fee for that added value.”

Versatile planning options

SmartBoost Index can help clients:

  • Grow their retirement savings – guaranteed
  • Leave a larger, guaranteed legacy without life insurance underwriting
  • Offset taxes during Roth IRA conversions
  • Recover from market losses while securing steady growth

“EquiTrust continues to raise the bar by introducing future-focused products to the market,” says Kane. “We’re intent on delivering impactful, client-first solutions that evolve with the marketplace, and with consumer needs. The 40% BOOST is a bold leap forward that sets a new standard for growth.”

“From a product design standpoint, EquiTrust’s philosophy is to create simple, client-centric products,” Kane continues. “The strong guarantees and innovative features built into SmartBoost Index align directly with that approach.”

EquiTrust collaborated with fixed index annuity pioneer Genesis Development Group, Inc., an independent insurance product development firm, to offer SmartBoost Index and its patent-pending 40% boost. Genesis is not affiliated with EquiTrust.

About EquiTrust Life Insurance Company: EquiTrust is a national provider of annuity and life insurance solutions designed to help clients secure tax-deferred savings with protection from market risk, guaranteed retirement income, long-term care solutions and seamless wealth transfer. Disclosures

1Guarantees are based on the claims-paying ability of EquiTrust Life Insurance Company.

2 During the first 10 contract years, if death benefit is taken as monthly payments over 60 months. If taken as a lump sum, the death benefit is equal to the Vested Enhanced Accumulation Value, which is the greater of the Accumulation Value (AV) and the Vested Guaranteed Enhanced Accumulation Value. Once the AV exceeds the Guaranteed Enhanced Accumulation Value, the lump sum death benefit is equal to the AV for all payment options.

The death benefit may be limited in some states. The boost will be adjusted for withdrawals taken in the first 10 contract years.

See the SmartBoost Index contract for complete details.
