National Life Group Names Sean Woodroffe As Its Chief People Officer
Montpelier, Vermont – May 9, 2013 - Sean N. Woodroffe has been appointed senior vice president and chief people officer of National Life Group.
The appointment, effective May 13, will put Mr. Woodroffe in charge of National Life Group’s human resources team where he will oversee recruiting, training, performance management and compensation programs. He will REPORT directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Mehran Assadi.
“Sean is a gifted and talented leader who is uniquely qualified to lead our people strategy,” said Mr. Assadi. “He brings global experience to this critical position.”
Since 2009 Mr. Woodroffe has been vice president of human resources for Sun Life Financial U.S. Prior to joining Sun Life, Mr. Woodroffe was human resources division head for the United Bank for Africa, where he oversaw the delivery of all HR services to business heads and more than 17,000 employees globally. He has also served as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Financial Guaranty Insurance Company, and worked in numerous HR roles during an 18-year tenure at Merrill Lynch. His last role at Merrill Lynch was as head of international human resources based in London.
Mr. Woodroffe earned his BA in International Relations from Shaw University and has completed the Strategic Leadership Program at Harvard Business School.
