Zurich Insurance Expands Its Sponsorship with World Number 1 Golfer Jason Day

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Jan. 24 -- Zurich Insurance, a property-casualty insurance company, issued the following news release:

Zurich Insurance has expanded its relationship with World Number 1 PGA TOUR golfer Jason Day to include the Zurich brand on his golf bag.

Zurich's enhanced three-year sponsorship with Day comes on the heels of Zurich and the PGA TOUR announcing a format change to the Zurich Classic. The 2017 Zurich Classic will debut a new team format with 80 two-man teams competing in rounds of best ball and alternate shot. Day was one of the first to commit to the Zurich Classic, announcing that he will play with Rickie Fowler in the tournament.

The world's top-ranked golfer and Queensland, Australia native followed his impressive rise up the rankings in 2015 with another solid season in 2016. Day captured three PGA TOUR victories, including wins at THE PLAYERS Championship and the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. He now has ten total PGA TOUR victories, including eight wins in the last two years and has confirmed his status as one of golf's elite players.
