A Nash County woman is charged with felony insurance fraud and felony attempting to obtain property by false pretense, N.C. Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey said in a news release.
Windolyn Turner, 55, of the 5400 block of Hopkins Road in Middlesex, is accused of giving false statements to the State National Insurance Company about a car accident on Feb. 11, 2022, the news release said.
Turner also is accused of giving false information regarding claimed injuries from the accident to try to receive a financial settlement from the insurance company, the news release said.
Turner was taken into custody on Nov. 15 by special agents with the N.C. Department of Insurance's Criminal Investigations Division, the news release said. Wake County officials released her under a $3,000 secured bond, the news release said.
