Womack to host annual Retiree Appreciation Day

Oct. 5--Womack Army Medical Center will provide services to support its retirees during Retiree Appreciation Day 2019.

The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19, at Womack Army Medical Center, 2817 Reilly Road, Fort Bragg.

"We are working hard not only to provide the services that you have become accustomed to, but also to add and enhance those services, as well," organizers said. "The retirees of the state of North Carolina deserve nothing but the best, and we are striving to ensure that this standard is met. We look forward to seeing and servicing you at our facility."

There will be a welcome brief by the commander at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., followed by an advance directives class.

A TRICARE briefing will be conducted after the advance directives class.

Briefings will be in the Weaver Auditorium on the ground floor of WAMC.

Services and information offered during the day will include:

--Height and weight/body mass index checks

--Tobacco cessation information

--Oral cancer screenings

--Red Cross information

--Army Wellness Center

--Chaplain

--Veterinarian services

--Nutrition information

--TRICARE benefits

--Blood pressure screening

--Yoga

--Veteran services

--Traumatic brain injury information

--Third party insurance information

--Immunization education and vaccinations

--Pharmacy counseling

--Breast health/ mammograms

--Bone density testing

--Pulmonary disease information

--Colon cancer screening

--Patient relations

--Occupational therapy

--ID cards/Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, wills, living wills/advance medical directives and the shredder will be in the Soldier Support Center on Normandy Drive.

Attendees are asked to bring a list of medications, supplements and vaccination records if interested in pharmacy counseling and vaccination services.
