Wilson Morris "Red" Adams, 85, of Lititz, and formerly of Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Luther Acres Retirement Community. Born in Blandon, he was the son of the late Morris E. and Stella Keim Adams. Red was the loving husband of Doris A. Gibble Adams and they would have observed their 66th wedding anniversary on January 6th.
Red worked for many years as an insurance agent for Prudential Life Insurance Company; following retirement, he worked for Graybill's Tool and Die Inc. Manheim. He was a member of the Manheim Masonic Lodge, and an honorary member of the Hope Fire Engine and Hose Company, Number One of Manheim. Red and his wife Doris traveled extensively over the years. They spent many winters in Haines City, Florida, and many happy summers at Rehoboth Bay, boating, crabbing, clamming, and fishing. Red had many talents from being an excellent wood carver to making fine wine. He was an avid Manheim Central Barons Football Fan. Throughout his life Red's passion was his family; he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Doris, is a daughter, Connie M. wife of Michael I. Barto of Lititz; three grandchildren, Timothy husband of Kate Barto, Troy husband of Jessica Barto, Kelly wife of Adam Neifert; five great grandchildren, Austin Barto, Julia Barto, Lizabeth Neifert, Alyson Neifert, Isabella Barto; two brothers, Lester Adams of Manheim, James Adams of Benton, TX., and a sister, Marlene Cerqua of Lititz. Preceding him in death is a brother George Adams.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Red's memorial service at the Luther Acres Community Room, 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz, on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at Luther Acres Community Room on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
